Entry verification may inadvertently
result in the release of specific catalog information. This is prohibited in accordance with the
American Kennel Club Board Policy Manual, Section 4, Section VII C, Disclosure:
Information on individual dogs entered may not be disclosed prior to the sale
of the catalog.”
This prohibition impacts the
information superintendents or secretaries may release prior to the sale of
catalogs. Specifically, information
concerning an individual dog may not be released without evidence that the
inquiry is from the owner or duly authorized agent. Telephone inquiries should only confirm the
number of entries received rather than the confirmation of a particular dog’s
entry.
